Term Project Milestone 3
Brief Overview:
For this week, our group met online to plan out our project and specify all the details of each environment and the scope of the project. We had a lot of discussions surrounding each specific environment within our art gallery experience. After our milestone meeting earlier in the week, it was easier to gauge everything we wanted to include in our experience. Once again, we used our Miro board to document and record our progress.
Things that were clearly identified during this meeting were the experience flows for each of the environments for our VR art gallery, a mood board for the visuals of the experience, and division of work for the project proposal and Alpha presentation. Each of our environments are centered around the music, with an interactive activity in each one to get users immersed in the world and music.
The flow charts for each room in the VR art gallery:
This week's sprints' hours and statuses updated
This week we:
- Gained approval for our art gallery idea
- Asked questions about the project to help us finalize our ideas
- Completed a mood board for the visuals of the environment
- Divided work for the proposal and presentation so team members can start work on different sections
- We are all working on the written portions together, but for the experience overview, I was assigned with working on the wireframes/storyboards for three out of four of our environments
- Finalized the ideas for our various environments, with dedicated moodboards and experience flows charts
Creation of next week's sprint in full detail
During the following week, we plan on:
- Working and finishing the project proposal
- Everyone works on their assigned sections, for me its wireframes and storyboards
- Write the pitch together
- Create high-level development plan
- Working and finishing the Alpha presentation
- Create low-fidelity prototype
- Create a slideshow
- Practice the presentation
- Starting work on models for our environments

Challenges:
Our main challenge is that we still have no idea what experience to create for our fifth environment - the beta brainwave environment. Originally, we were going to only include 3/5 brainwaves in our art gallery as it would be more achievable to finish and flesh out a few rather than all, but we expanded it to include 4/5 brainwaves as we had solid and unique ideas for these brainwaves. To keep the scope of our project feasible, we are not including all five brainwaves as part of our initial idea, which is upsetting because our art gallery might feel incomplete. Working on a way to incorporate the fifth brainwave while still making the project achievable has been a challenge. Even coming up with an idea for the beta brainwave environment has been difficult because it encompasses a wide range of brain states.
Successes:
Beta brainwave aside, we made a lot of progress this week, agreeing on the ideas and experience flows for our various environments. We have all our ideas finalized for the whole experience, including the interactive activities, the look and feel of each environment, the social aspect, and the flow of the art gallery’s main hub. We were able to divide up work for the proposal equally, and team members are easily working on their individual parts.
Number of hours spent on the project:
Two hours and 30 minutes was spent during the group meeting, and I spent two hours working on the proposal so far.
