Term Project Milestone 5
Brief Overview:
This week we worked on our respective tasks designated in our high level development plan. Other than the milestone meeting on Wednesday, we did not meet again during the week. This week, I started working on the 3D models for the Delta environment. The Delta environment is relatively simple, with only a few assets (see image below).
I began with creating the model for the center of the environment, the core that all the tubes are leading to. I also started creating the “tube bases”, a small object that the tubes start from to connect them to the outer globe.
This week's sprints' hours and statuses updated
This week I:
- Worked on the 3D assets for the Delta environment
- Created a mood board for the environment’s appearance and vibe
- Modelled Main core object
- Modelled tube bases
Creation of next week's sprint in full detail
During the following week, I plan on:
- Finishing modelling and texturing 3D assets for the Delta environment
- Creating A-Frame scene with all of the assets
- Adding particle effects to the scene
- Adding animation for the orbs in the tubes
- Creating and adding nav-mesh to scene
During the next sprint, if I have extra time, it would be nice to:
- Add animation and functionality (picking up and dissolving) for the falling orbs
Challenges:
The main challenge this week was the sheer amount of tests and assignments I had to work on/study for during the last week. This coming week, I had multiple assignments and tests that needed more attention during the last week. I wasn’t able to complete all the tasks I assigned myself last week (Creating assets and building the environment for the Delta environment as well as potentially making a nav mesh). However, I was able to make good progress on the main assets for the Delta environment. Since we did not have an exact concept for the Delta room other than a rough sketch, it was also hard to fully gauge what the assets would look like and I had to model them without a solid reference.
Successes:
Since I had a lot of assignments to work on last week and the week before, I will have less things to work on in the following week, allowing me more time to work on the term project. Before I modelled anything, I created a mood board with inspiration for what the final room would look like, and with this in addition to our rough concept, I was able to model the important assets, like the core and the tube bases.

I spent three hours working on the assets for the Delta environment.
